We've all been there: trying to rush last-minute to get everything ready before a photo session. Sister bumps her head, brother is being a jerk ... yes. The realities of life. Life is not how we see in on Pinterest. In fact, Pinterest is nothing but an over-inflated view to make us feel inferior to the "rest of the world." (Or at least that's how I feel sometimes.) In the real world, you won't always have matching outfits and your children won't always be good moods. In fact, they never will. 

When we did this session the little boy was doing what little boys do best: causing problems and making his sister cry. He tripped her, she fell and busted her face .. and that was the end of happy sister.  Quincy, Illinois Family PhotographsFamily photographs captured in Quincy, Illinois.

The good news was that they made up and loved the giant balloon I brought. Sessions are a lot like life in general. It's not about what you're given or what happens ... it's about what you do with it. We turned a disaster of a photo shoot into a good time and captured some wonderful photographs of this beautiful little family. 

We even ended up getting a wonderful family shot for the Christmas card. It's not about having perfect moments in life and being able to capture them.
